Polvorones de Naranja

Ingredients 9 ounces of butter
1/2 cup confectioner’s sugar
1 egg
Peel of 1 orange, grated
1/2 cup orange juice
14 ounces flour
1/2 teaspoon orange extract
Preheat oven at 375° F. Grease and flour a baking tray. Beat butter and confectioner’s sugar to creamy consistency. Add egg and orange extract; mix well. Add grated orange peel. Slowly mix in flour and orange juice, alternating. Knead on a floured surface until the dough is soft and homogeneous. Form a ball. Place in a large bowl and refrigerate for about an hour. With a rolling pin, spread the dough on a floured surface to about ½ inch thick. Using a round cookie cutter, punch out circles and place them on the baking tray. Bake for about 25 minutes or until done. Sprinkle with confectioner’s sugar.
